Hi,

Well.. I had gentoo 1.4 rc1 and basically i couldn't get KDE to compile.. so i tried gnome and i couldn't get mozilla to compile SO i came back to a gentoo 1.1a CD I had. So i've done the install, booted into gentoo and the first thing i do is emerge rsync. Goes all nicely.. then i do emerge -pu world.. and get

Code:

These are the packages that I would merge, in order.

Calculating world dependencies -
!!! Error: couldn't find match for >=sys-devel/gcc-3.2-r1 in sys-libs/glibc-2.2.5-r7

arg! Does this mean only gcc 3.2 is supported now or i've used a way to old CD? I don't know if I can handle another 2 weeks using gentoo 1.4 and watching it not compile anything properly.

Thanks in advance for any help!

i can't stop myself.. i think one more time at 1.4 will do it.. i'm gonna underclock and everything. :-)

Allthough i'd still like to know the answer to the previous question because i'll probably have to install 1.1a again *sigh*

You may want to adjust the /etc/make.profile symlink to point to an old profile in /usr/portage/profiles.
