support for i875p?

I have an Abit IC7 motherboard, using the intel 875 p chipset.
When I try to enable DMA on my harddrive it'll get enabled, but only a minute later it is off again. I suspect that the chipset isn't supported, is there any way to get "around" this problem and enabling DMA? Thanx on advance.

I have the abit IC7-MAX3 with the 875p and it worked fine. What kind of drive do you have? I did have to use a 2.6 kernel though in order to get the gbit onboard NIC to work, and Im sure since the NIC is integrated into the chipset, you prolly need a 2.6 kernel in order for a lot of the stuff to work.

I've got kernel 2.6.5 and it don't work for me, have searched through all of the kernel but didn't find anything.

i875p is supported kernel-internally (i.e. you don't need any external patches/drivers/modules). DO you have a place where you could upload your ernel .config?
