Realised it was gone again this morning, too. Pity, I used it a lot... Why did that have to disappear from the search_id=newposts again? |

Customizations can make upgrades difficult to maintain. I actually thought I saw it after I saw 2.0.3 at the bottom of the page though. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

I'm to blame :p
I talked to Kurt and he mentioned some patches that he had applied and said he's on the road for the week (week over?), and won't be too available.
So, I've read the discussion. You guys just want one link that marks all forums as read, right? What's wrong with the link on the front page between the forums table and "Who is Online" table? It says "Mark all forums read" with a link pointing to https://forums.gentoo.org/index.php?mark=forums
Isn't that what you guys want? Or am I missing something really, really obvious? _________________ - Kyle Manna

If it's me you're asking, I particularly liked that link in search_id=newposts because it allowed me to keep a browser window open on that page all day and just occasionally mark everything as read so I could keep up with new posts to some of the topics whenever I reloaded the page. There you go, this is certainly not in the spirit of the forums, but I hardly ever use the front page, instead, I have a little button in Mozilla's personal toolbar that points straight to https://forums.gentoo.org/search.php?search_id=newposts...
Guess I'm using this more like a Usenet news reader, not a PHP driven web forum... |

I frequently use the New Posts page as well. Having the link on that page was just a convenience. If it gets put back, I'd like to propose a minor addition. After marking posts read, it would return to the 'front page'. If it could return to 'new posts' again, that would be perfect.
Also, I'm perfectly willing to wait until kurt gets back. Whichever you prefer. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Exactly like you want -- just like Rac's patch with a little hack from me to make it loopback to the newposts page. _________________ - Kyle Manna
