this might be a *really* stupid question, but this kernel has still got reiserfs4 support, doesn't it?
It's not listed in the patches, but these are these the supp patches realtive to the latestest release, or are these all the patches included in this kernel? |

|
|
Hi Steel & others,
I recompiled the iteraid driver patch for the latest version available at http://www.ite.com.tw. It is now version 1.44, previous version was 1.43. Changelog adds this:
* Revision 1.44 2004/03/16 13:12:35 root
* Fixed: (1) The crash problem when using "rmmod" to remove the iteraid module.
* (2) Support two IT8212 cards or chips.
* (3) A bug when accessing the slave disk more than 137G.
* Thanks for Martine Purschke kindly help to find this bug and fix it.
* (4) can_queue: 12 --------------------> can_queue: 1
* (5) Change the Transparent(Bypass) mode initial PCI registers setting.
* (6) Change IDE I/O, control and dma base address from USHORT to ULONG,
* so that the non x86 platform, like MIPS, will load the correct address.
* (7) Add GPL license in iteraid.h.
Patch is available from: http://gene.science.uva.nl/~ennesp/ite/iteraid_1.44.patch.bz2
Cheers! _________________ - Skion |

IPW2100 driver doesn't compile
after adding hostap_crypt.h, compiles cleanly, but refuses to work
ndiswrapper doesn't work
skip this one if you have a centrino laptop... |

I configured the kernel without preemptive and used CFQ scheduler...
What could cause the hardlooks?May APIC support and I-APIC support?Any advise would be nice. With my P4 and Abit IC7 all works fine only damn NForce2 won't work stable. |

Can you say me which nforce patch is included? Is it the one by PrakashKC? Are any special boot parameters required? |
Yeah, it's the one from PrakashKC. To use it, add apic_tack=2 or apic_tack=1 to your kernel line {grub,lilo}.conf. |

hmm, this release breaks dhcpcd on my r8139 (it just times out, rc1-love1 works fine). Any particular reason it should do so? _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

No. Is there anything reported in dmesg? _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

nope. dhcpcd just reports 'DHCP_DISCOVER timed out' or something. You want a strace of it? _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

I don't think I could read an strace of it. Were there any warning when compiling your driver? _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

@steel300
Please include following patch in future love-kernels (until it gets merged). It fixes timer on nforce2 to be correctly set up on apic. Shouldn't do no harm for other people. This patch already autodetects some borked nforce2, to force it, you need to append acpi_skip_timer_override to your kernel boot paramters. This patch does NOT fix the hard-locks on nforce2, for that you still need the other patch. This on comes from Len Brown. He'll probably update it with more DMI data for auto-detection.

Worship us, and make sacrifices to TPC and steel300, for we now have a cool love-sources community site.
It's located at http://love-sources.tpwch.com/ - kindly hosted by TPC (did I mention you should thank him?).
In any case, I assume (ahem ahem) that most of our love-sources related discussions will take place mainly in our IRC channel (#love-sources at freenode, for you infidels who forgot) and at said community site.
There isn't anything interesting there disregarding the forums, but in any case, mass up and migrate to our cozy little community to help it evolve. Enjoy. _________________ I give, you take, this life that I forsake

Just a note, On the forums at http://love-sources.tpwch.com/, there's a thread for patch requests. If you could take your requests there, I could have one centralized location for all of the patches. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

Can I just point out that the mm patches for this version also introduce the hanging bug with my pcmcia controller, I have no idea how to find further information so if someone would be so kind i can give them a root shell on the box and any other info they would need. _________________ Signature:
