My network just stopped working after a power outage shut down my computer. On startup it doesn't even pause when trying to bring up the network, it just gives [!!] where it should say ok.
I havn't shut down my computer in a while so i'm not sure what it could be. I think I emerge a newer net-tools recently along with hotplug during an emerge -U world.
All the relevant config files look correct. The only one that really matters is /etc/conf.d/net right?
Anyway, i'm sort of confused because it doesn't even try to connect to the network. Maybe my drivers aren't loaded? an lsmod gives shows mii and I think that's what my network card was. Not sure, it's a a built in via chipset thing.
Sorry for the lack of detail but I havn't had to deal with network stuff in a while.
Thanks |

figured it out, my network driver wasn't loaded so I must have overwritten a hotplug file with an etc-update.
Now what other modules aren't loaded that I might be needing?
I assumed you don't need to configure hotplug and that it will just automatically find the modules.
How do I fix this so that my modules get loaded at boot? |
