I'm looking to install a Gentoo-compatible computer system in my roomy Ford Explorer Sport SUV, so am looking for some good ITX-based systems, since they use less power than ATX ones. Does anyone have any experience with any ITX systems such as the mini-ITX or the new nano-ITX? I'm looking for something with power, since I'll be watching DVD's and playing mid-range games like FreeCiv (no 3D-intensive games, so not that much power).

Thanks.

sorry, I must have mis-communicated. I certainly will not be watching DVDs while driving, only when parked. But I do practically live in the car, since I'm only at my apartment for 6 hours a day.

Mini/Nano ITX is just a form factor. Via make a lot of them. Info on the form at http://www.mini-itx.com (IIRC).

You should be able to install Gentoo without any problems.

Some info at http://forums.viaarena.com/categories.cfm?catid=28

Specific info for EPIA boards http://www.epiawiki.org/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=EpiaHowto

Hope that is of some use - when you get it all working post back how you did it (and don't forget to update the wiki too).

Cheers,
Al
