2.4.24 rw in ntfs

I have been looking through the forum and have not really found anything saying that someone has successfully written to a NTFS drive while running 2.4.24. If anyone has please tell me how to do it. I have downloaded ntfsprogs but i still dont see how that has helped me other than being able to do basic paritioning and formating to the hd.

The reason i am not running 2.6.5 is because i can not seem to sucessfully get my mouse working.
The only way i got my mouse to work in 2.4.24 was to rip the module from the cd.

The reason why you havn't found anyone is becuase it is just not safe! Everybody I spoke about it told me NOT to use it.
