|

I have a Latitude C640 and it comes with an Intel 810 sound chip. I compiled the 810 driver in the kernel. I can play wav and mp3 files, but I can't play any midi files. Is there something that I'm missing? Thanks. |

Tried it with alsa? I have a dell laptop with the same chipset, and as far as I know it works...(haven't actually tried midi, I admit).

I installed the ALSA driver and I can see that the mpu401 midi driver is loaded, but I still can't hear any midi music. |

Assuming you followed the install guide instructions for alsa (configuring modules, removing the i810 driver from the kernel, etc) then I have no idea.
Try an alsa list or forum, perhaps?
