Ok, the Subject is a little confusing, but I didn't know how to say it short.
My Problem is, that when I quit KDE it remembers which Applications are open to reopen them the next time I use KDE. But the reopening doesn't work right. For example xemacs tries to open the right file, but only gives an empty Buffer.
Firefox doesn't remember which tabs were open. On my second display only the console comes back, the other windows don't.
This happens only when I'm logged in as a normal user, for root it works fine, as far as I remember.
Any idea what causes this and how to get rid of it? |

the problem u describe r application behavior not kde ones kde just start the application not handle how and what they will open (i.e firedox doesn't remmember which tab were open it's just always open the home page so this the behavior u got when kde starts). |

Ok, i was mistaken, while I still used the root account to install stuff, I used Konquerer and not Firefox. Konquerer saves the open Tabs. |

I believe there is an extension for firefox that saves the tabs when you exit. I don't know if it will work with kde exiting firefox for you though, as non-kde apps don't seem to remember settings for me. _________________ What is the best [insert-type-of-program-here]? |

The strange thing is, that only the Apps on the first Display come back after rebooting, on the second display only the console comes back, oter apps, like firefox, thunderbird are totally forgotten.
Also on the second display the Fonts are bigger (too big, the menus take a lot of space this way)
Both displays run on 1024x768, the first is the internal laptop display, the second a tft. |
