|

Hi!!
I have three games that under Windows XP doesn't work perfectly.
Deus Ex when i set 32 bit graphics goes into window mode: no way to reset to fullscreen, unless i check 16 bit mode.
Speed Busters from Ubisoft has an everlasting fog: almost unplayable.
Soulbringer doesn't recognize 3D hardware card: it is a DX7 game and it seems that for some reason DX9.0b is not compatible with that damn game.
Now i have decided to make some experiment with WineX, because where Windows fails Linux success, but:
Deus Ex has MANY textures corruption: textures sometimes became black for some seconds.
Speed Busters locks WineX into a black screen, but i see that it needs Intel Indeo for the intro video: is it this that locks WineX?
Soulbringer has two exe version: one with EAX and one withouth EAX: the one with doesn't start with some error about exception not handled by WineX; the one withouth arrives at the intro screen, but then it exits with a IDIRECTSOUND error into WineX.
Someone can help me, or knows something about these problems? Thanks for all the advices you can give!! |

You have to use a newer version of the ati-drivers since 3.2.X isn't supported by winex. |

Anybody got Requeim Avening Angel to work under wine or wineX?
I tried it in Win 2000
I have the latest drivers for Win 2k (DirectX 9.X)
and for some reason i can't get the dam game to recognize that i have DX 9.X
It shows that it need DX 6.0 or higher but then next to it there is a check off sheet
(System , Monitor, Sound Drivers, Video drivers, Network, and DirectX)
It always says failed on DirectX part no matter what
I haven't tried running it in WineX cause i had a problem b4 w/ a game that locked my computer and destroyd my home dir completely. |

Thanks! So i'll install 3.7.6 for the graphics problem in Deus Ex, but for Intel Indeo video and IDirectSound any idea about the problem?
About Requiem i know that oldest 3do games has some problem in finding new directx but 1.3 patch fix it and it adds the support for directx8.1 and newer: try with it vladp12. |
