I have a hyperthreaded CPU. When I try to ensure that both threads are being used, top shows only one CPU, while /proc/cpuinfo shows two. What is the best way to determine if both threads are being recognized and used? The BIOS setup is correct, as with other distributions, I've seen two threads on the same machine. |

Maybe a dumb suggestion, but did you use the 1 key (toggles SMP-view) in top? |

Oh, boy. Not a dumb suggestion. I thought that top launched showing multiple processors by default. Press 1 and voila, two CPUs. Thanks for the answer to my stupid question ![Smile :)](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
