κάνε emerge τα corefonts κι έπειτα κάνε add το path στο XFree86.

Έχω βάλει τα windows fonts στα fonts του XFree, και έχω δηλώσει τον κατάλογο στο XF86Config. Αλλά δεν τα δείχνει στις εφαρμογές,
πχ. στο Mozilla. Επιπλέον, δε μπορώ να βρω από που αλλάζουν τα default fonts του συστήματος, στο GNOME.
Μπορώ να το ρυθμίσω από κάποιο text αρχείο, ή γίνεται και μέσα από το GUI; |

Δεν γνωρίζω και πολλά για το GNOME.. νομίζω όμως ότι βασίζεται σε GTK οπότε, λογικά, μπορείς να χρησιμοποιήσεις το switch-2 για να αλάξεις τα fonts globaly

An ola ta fonts sou einai katw apo to /usr/share/fonts apla xriazese to <dir>/usr/share/fonts</dir> mesa sto <fontconfig> (douleuei recursively). An exeis kai alla custom directories prostheteis kai auta me to idio syntax.
Sto XF86Config h xorg.conf (analoga me ton X server pou trexeis) apla xreiazese:

ΟΚ, ευχαριστώ, έβγαλα άκρη!!
Το μόνο που μένει τώρα είναι πως να ορίσω τα fonts που θέλω στο περιβάλλον του GNOME. Γιατί από τη διαδρομή
Applications-->Desktop Preferences-->Fonts
δε γίνεται τίποτα σπουδαίο.
Αυτό το switch-2 τι ακριβώς είναι; Πού το βρίσκω; |

To switch-2 einai gia window managers pou den trexoun to gnome-session(-properties)---san to fluxbox pou trexei o filtatos Blade---opote me to Gnome den to xreiazese. Αυτό είναι το πρόβλημα! Δε μπορώ να αλλάξω fonts από το
Applications-->Desktop Preferences-->Fonts
επειδή δεν υπάρχει στο παράθυρο κάποιο σημείο που να μπορώ να διαλέξω!
Δείχνει κανονικά
Application Font:
Desktop Font:
...
αλλά δίπλα τους έχει κενό!
Έκανα κάποιο λάθος στην εγκατάσταση;
Μπορώ τουλάχιστον να επιλέξω fonts μέσω text editor σε κάποιο αρχείο ρυθμίσεων; |

Auto pali prwth fora to blepw. Diladi den sou exei kanena font kai den mporeis na anoikseis oute ton font selector kanontas click sta "kena"? Ta fonts ta ebales me ton tropo pou egrapsa pio panw? |

Aλλο κουφο και αυτο......
Ελεγξε τα παραπάνω για την εγκατάσταση των font...
Στην αναγκη ασε και κανενα Font path μεσα στο ΧF86config.
Και σβησε απο το home directory τα /gnome* /gconf* ωστε να μηδενιστούν τα settings του gnome
