Hi i'd like to get my Edirol PCR-80 USB midi controller working with linux but cant find much documentation on getting midi controllers working via USB. I did find one relating to an evolution controller but it seemed a little outdated.
Can anyone save me some search time by providing some quick tips on this? I have USB midi compiled into the kernel but when i boot i get the following error:
Code: |
Jun 1 22:17:27 tux usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using address 2
Jun 1 22:17:27 tux midi: probe of 3-1:1.0 failed with error -5

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

one tip is not to compile into the kernel but as modules, makes it easy for trail and error, maybe sure you have usb-midi under;
device drivers / sound / ALSA then ALSA USB devices &
device drivers / USB Support
this produce 2 modules usb_midi and snd_usb_audio
load those up and see what you get in your logs. _________________ I'm a big lemon. Peel me and offer me to your children. |
