Not the most exciting gnome release, but needs testing none the less

I have added an evolution use flag, so those that don't want to install/upgrade evolution don't have to. Also remember to report bugs to breakmygentoo and not to bugs.gentoo.org.

It demands for file-roller-2.7.0 which seems not to be there... any suggestions, please?
Thanks. _________________ shine on,

Emerged fine here, except for gst-plugins-gnomevfsrc, which also breaks my rhythmbox and muine, but hey.
So far works fine. _________________ shine on,

sorry it doesn't compile, but that is a gentoo package, so you can file a bug on it. |

PLEASE do not suggest this. This is part of the reason BMG gets a bad reputation among other developers. If gst-plugins-gnomevfsrc breaks with the 2.7.1 gnome libs which are not part of portage and we get a bug report about it, it is not a gentoo bug, and will be closed. It is probably breaking because of the 2.7.1 stuff which we have no control over. If the problem is reproducable with packages from portage proper, then yes, file a bug, but developers can not be expected to handle bugs coming from external packages.
</rant>
I'm not trying to be a pain, but this is the kind of stuff that gets people upset, so i'm trying to explain why and maybe prevent it. _________________ overlays - Use at your own risk. File bug reports on this stuff and i'll kick you in the junk. Ask me before asking upstream if these fail. I mean it. No, really.

What do you mean? The USE flag for Evolution support is "evo." Just simply add that to your USE flags if you want Evolution support in gnome-panel applets and such. |

In regards to the evolution flag, are you referring to the evolution-data-server which is present in evolution 1.5.x and integrates with the gnome calendar to show tasks? The e-d-s package is obtainable from breakmygentoo, along with evo 1.5.x. The gnome portion must be enabled though, and the last time I checked, default ebuilds had "--disable-eds" hardcoded into them, and so that needed to be changed to "--enable-eds" or removed (can't remember which).
Hope that helps |
