Hallo zusammen
Hab leider ein Problem: Mein Rechner hängt sich aus unerklärlichen Gründen auf. Zuerst hatte ich den alten Kernel im Verdacht, aber da ich ejtzt einen laufenden 2.6.7 habe, treten die Freezes immernoch auf.
Vielleicht sollte ich noch erwähnen, dass ich dieses Problem erst seit nem Mainbaordwechsel von Kt266A nach Nforce2 habe. CPU ist die gleiche geblieben, USE-Flags stimmen also immernoch, habe ich auch nicht verändert.
Kann mir vielleicht jemand helfen, wenn noch weitere Infos zum System benötigt werde, poste ich sie natürlich gerne.
Was auch noch interessant ist: Windows läuft - nach einer kompletten Neuinstallation ohne Probleme (noch)

Schuss ins Blaue:
AGP 8x ist auch für diverse Freezes bekannt, kannst ja mal im BIOS auf 4x zurückstellen. |

Hi
DAnke für die beiden Antworten.
8xAgp hat meine Karte ned, hab trotzdem mal auf 4x im Bios fest eingestellt.
Auch die beiden Kernelparameter hab ich mal eingetragen, biser läuft er ganz gut.
Mal schaun, ob das auch so bleibt.

Scheint wirkich zu gehen,
Grake is ne ti4200.
Ram hm, wenn der Rechner wieder einfriert mach ich mal an memtest.
Aber bisher is das Problem gelöst.

So, zu früh gefreut.
hab grad mim Programmiern angefang *zack* eingefroren. Vielleicht könnte aber auch 'mein Programm' daran schuld sein.

hi leute,
ich hatte mit meinem nforce2 board auch unerklärliche freezes.
schuld daran waren die ACPI- & APIC-untersützung im kernel.
funktionierten nie richtig zusammen mit nforce2. also würde ich dazu
raten, mal den kernel neu zu kompilieren und den support für beide sachen rauszunehmen.

Das Problem is in 2.6.6 gefixt, allerdings ist der fix etwas dumm geamcht, so daß einige boards nicht den fix bekommen.
2.6.7 sollte den fix so drin haben, da der aktuelle mm3 kernel AKAIF den schon hat, daß ALLE nforce2 boards das mitbekommen. Ansonsten kann man die arch/i386/pci/fixup.c selbst anpassen, daß das entsprechende byte immer gesetzt wird.
Hintergrund: Auf einigen mobos is der Wert 8f....... satt 1f... oder 9f... in den entsprechenden Registern gesetzt. Dann wird der fix jedoch nciht aktiviert.
In einigen engl threads hier gibt es einen fertigen patch für das ganze... |

Hi,
hm das passt aber nicht zu mir, denn ich habe zum einen 2.6.6 Kernel und zum anderen habe ich das ABIT IC7-G Board mit einem Intel i875 Schipsatz
laut dem Log liegt es an irgendwelchen Speicher Adressproblemen mit dem RAM ? (irgendwie ist die physikalische Speicheraddressliste fehlerhaft etc. so genau kann ich die Meldung leider nicht interpretieren.
