I am trying to get noip to update my ip address.

manually starting the client with "noip2 -c /etc/no-ip2.conf -d" I keep getting the following error

! Our IP address is <address hidden>
! Last_IP_Addr = 0.0.0.0, IP = <address hidden>
Can't gethostbyname for dynupdate.no-ip.com

also when I do a "killall noip2" I get the following response

Read-only file '/etc/no-ip2.conf' prevents saving Last_IP_Addr 0.0.0.0

'/etc/no-ip2.conf' has an access value of 600 as per the readme files so it should have rw access

The question is are there any other settings I should have enabled or does the prog not work properly.

Looks like problems with your dns resolving. Can you do a
Code:
ping dynupdate.no-ip.com
?
