Take a look here and do likewise (you can leave out the kde stuff of course). |

Code: | bash-2.05b$ emerge mozilla-firefox -pv
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies \
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "x11-base/xfree" have been masked.
!!! possible candidates are:
- x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r5 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r6 (masked by: package.mask, ~keyword)
- x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r7 (masked by: package.mask, ~keyword)
!!! (dependency required by "net-www/mozilla-firefox-0.8-r2" [ebuild])
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct. |

Please post the contents of your /etc/portage/package.keywords and /etc/portage/package.mask files. |

ah well... the problem isnt 100% solved.. i'm still not able to emerge some packegese like..
Code: | bash-2.05b$ emerge wine -pv
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies \
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "x11-base/xfree" have been masked.
!!! possible candidates are:
- x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r5 (masked by: package.mask)
- x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r6 (masked by: package.mask, ~keyword)
- x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r7 (masked by: package.mask, ~keyword)
!!! (dependency required by "app-emulation/wine-20040121" [ebuild])
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.
bash-2.05b$ emerge winex -pv
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] app-emulation/winex-3000 [empty/missing/bad digest]
Total size of downloads: 0 kB

here are my files resting peacefuly in /etc/portage
package.keywords Code: |
kde-base/kde ~x86
x11-base/xorg-x11 ~x86
|
package.mask
i think there is something wrong with kde-base/kde ~x86, cuz when i try to emerge world it fails
Code: |
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "~kde-base/kdebase-3.2.3" have been masked.
!!! possible candidates are:
- kde-base/kdebase-3.2.3 (masked by: ~keyword)
!!! (dependency required by "kde-base/kde-3.2.3" [ebuild])
!!! Problem with ebuild kde-base/kde-3.2.3
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.
!!! Depgraph creation failed.
|
but if i comment that line then i cant emerge some packages....
everthing so strange |

Could it be that the wine ebuild still contains a direct dependency on xfree rather than virtual/x11 (the slot for xservers)? Try to put
Code: | app-emulation/wine ~x86 |
into package.keywords as well and see if that solves your problem. |
