Hallo zusammen
Ich habe Xfree installiert und konfiguriert. Wenn ich jetzt den startx
Befehl ausführe wird und bleibt der Bildschirm schwarz. Im unterschied zu
anderen im Forum kann ich mit Ctrl Alt Backspace den X Server immer
noch stoppen und zur Konsole zurückkehren. Die Xfree86.0.log Datei gibt
mir keine Fehler aus. Ich suche seit 8h Stunden erfolglos nach dem Fehler
nun hoffe ich einer von euch kann mir helfen.

Ja wenn ich in der XF86Config driver auf VGA stelle started dieser auch. Nur dieser nvidia treiber will einfach nicht.

Ok ich konnte das Problem endlich lösen
Als erstes habe ich den Kernel 2.6.7 emerged.
emerge gentoo-dev-sources
Beim Kompilieren des Kernels muss darauf geachtet werden das der AGP Support ausgeschaltet ist:
Device Drivers
Character devices
/dev/agpgart (AGP Support)
In der Config Datei /etc/X11/XF86Conifg muss nun unter
der section Device folgendes angefügt werden:
Option "NvAGP" "1"
Um sicher zugehen das die neusten nvidia Treiber installiert benutzte ich den ACCEPT KEYWORDS befehl.
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-glx
Wenn ich jetzt startx ausführe erscheint schön das nvidia Logo und der Windowmanager startet
