Has anyone noticed that the default Gnome icon theme is missing several icons, eg. folder and home button icons? These icons are present in the other themes (High Contrast, Large Print etc.) However, in Gnome theme all that there is for those icons is the blank paper icon. Anyone know where I can get new icon themes? The new Gnome doesn't seem to use the old Nautilus themes. Thanks

Do an "emerge -s gnome-icon-theme" and make sure you have it installed, if you do, start gconf and goto :
/desktop/gnome/interface/icon_theme
Make that value "gnome" (lowercase, important) and you should get the somewhat decent looking default gnome theme. Bluecurve and such are still not using new format so it's pointless to try them. |

An easier hack is to make sure that you have those icons installed, and just change:
/usr/share/icons/gnome
to:
/usr/share/icons/Gnome
works like a charm
Should be fixed in the next beta.
