Problem with shutdown

Hi , I use gnome 2.6.2.I click Actions>Logoff i select shutdown then i press OK and its supposed to shutdown your pc,right?WRONG! It sends you to GDM :-S same with RESTART.
How come?

You can try with this commands:

Code:

$ su
password: ****
# chmod +s /sbin/halt
# chmod +s /sbin/reboot
# exit


however, this is an italian forum :) ciao
