I'm not sure what the warning means, but I am wondering why you're using the nv driver instead of nvidia. |

The warning isn't an nvidia driver issue, it's a result of vesafb in the kernel. If you look in your kernel sources, in /usr/src/linux/drivers/video you'll find a file named vesafb.c. About half way through the file you'll find
Code: | /* limit framebuffer size to 16 MB. Otherwise we'll eat tons of
* kernel address space for nothing if the gfx card has alot of
* memory (>= 128 MB isn't uncommon these days ...) */
if (vesafb_fix.smem_len > 16 * 1024 * 1024)
vesafb_fix.smem_len = 16 * 1024 * 1024;

This is the cause of the warning. Basically your framebuffer is being limited to 16MB != your vid card memory. There was a thread not too long ago about this (and other things) with solutions here. The warning really isn't a problem ... but there's a performance boost if this is working. _________________ malone |

Well my card is a 64mb card and I swtched my vga line to 792 and I still get it.
I'll try the solution on that page or turn off frame buffer. |
