|
Hello,
I just spent a day trying to set up Linux on my AMD64 Gentoo box. I mainly followed this guide:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=29991
My ISDN card is a US Robotics ISDN PCI Card TA, model nr. USR133409. Since the card uses a Winbond 6692 chip, I picked that one in menuconfig, along with the other HiSax and ISDN4Linux stuff mentioned in the tutorial.
Despite all my efforts, there seems not to be any ISDN or ppp devices in /dev. The initialization scripts fail and alternative configurations via /etc/conf.d/net fail as well, all statting unknown device, device not found etc.
The kernel compiles fine, but since Kernel 2.6.7 my bootlogging is screwed so compiled with HiSax as a module to read the log from modprobe.
modprobe hisax type=36
produces the following...

This looks fine according to the hisax readme.

Both with in-kernel compilation and modprobe there are no ISDN devices visible. lspci shows no hardware conflicts and the logfile seems perfectly okay. Any ideas? Note: My box is an Athlon 64, it might be an incompatibility issue. |
