GnomeBaker looks promising, though it's still in very early development. _________________ ~~ Peter: Programmer, Mathematician, STEM & Free Software Advocate, Enlightened Agent, Transhumanist, Fedora contributor

Agreed. Although, GTK and GNOME aren't one in the same. You probably know that but the "gnome" in parenthesis threw me off. lol |

nautilus-cd-burner is quite nice, but a bit basic... simple to use though and integrates well with Gnome
*UPDATE* I've created an ebuild for gnomebaker (which is quite good I have to say). You can get it at bugs.gentoo.org here |

I throw in another vote for xcdroast. It looks weird at first, but I find it's the best tool for anyting you want burned. _________________ Registered Linux User #263260 |

What part of GTK/GNOME burner was hard to understand - I use k3b as well but he specifically asked for a gtk/gnome burner.
oh and how can we forget nautilus-cd-burner, I use it for most my basic tasks these days, right click ISO image, select burn - done. |

I use Xcdroast too, it's pretty good but no where near as intuative as K3B.
Burning DVD's in xcdroast is a bit of a hassle because you have to get a key to use cdrecord-prodvd.
I wish there was a GTK2 app that uses growisofs to burn DVD's.
(yes I know - I should write one myself ). |

I've considered for a long time writing a gtk2 application in pyGTK which would simply do the same thing as k3b, be a wrapper to other apps..
And after looking over the command line app burn-center (which I use.) I MIGHT do it..
But I doubt anyone wants a gtk2 burner written in python.. but then again everyone here uses a package manager written in it. |

Have you people seen coaster? It's a long ways from being done, but it supposedly works sometimes. I've been trying to get it working the past few days, but whenever I click on burn, it crashes. I also get Code: | (coaster:23429): Gtk-WARNING **: Mixing deprecated and non-deprecated GtkToolbar API is not allowed
| so I'm pretty sure I compiled the wrong version of something. Oh, and it's written in C++, so it requires a bunch of mm libraries. |

Yes Coaster has been mentioned earlier. I agree it does look promising but is not stable yet.
I'm still not sure if Coaster will burn DVD's ? |

Oops. About dvd burning:
Bryan Forbes wrote: | The first release of coaster-gui will do data cd's. Then we plan to

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong (which I could quite believe) but isn't that what eroaster is? |
