Hi, ich hab' da so ein kleines Problem:
Auf meinem Server (Gentoo, Kernel 2.4.20) laufen die Iptables und stellen mir eine Route ins Internet (ISDN-Karte) zur Verfügung, zusätzlich benutze ich noch den Bind für DNS-Forwarding.
Um's vorweg zu nehmen: Auf dem Server läuft alles optimal, das Routing (ipmasquerading) läuft auch ohne Probleme - zumindest eine Zeit lang.
Nach einer zufälligen Zeit (ich schätze das es zufällig) ist wird aber nicht mehr geroutet. Ab und zu hilft es das Interface auf dem Client zu reparieren (winxp), manchmal hilft aber auch nur ein Serverneustart. Ich habe schon so ziemlich alles ausprobiert: dynamische IP's auf den Clients, feste IP's, Kernel bis auf's letzte ausgemistet, usw. Einmal hatte ich auch eine Kernelkonfiguration mit der alles ohne Problem ging, nur weiss ich nicht mehr welche Settings ich da hatte, im Prinzip sollte aber meine aktuelle Konfiguration ziemlich ähnlich sein.
Zur Zeit gehe ich davon aus das es nicht an den Clients hängt, ich vermute das mir ein Teil des Kernel wegkackt (falls so was überhaupt möglich ist). Ich habe gelesen das so ein Route-Breakdown mit 2.0.Xer und 2.2.Xer Kernel vorkommen kann oder wenn man Dinge wie ipfwadm drauf hat was aber bei mir alles nicht der Fall ist.
