sometime ago i upgraded to 2.6.8 and converted my boot splash to the new fb-ng. I then started to experience lockups and recently decided to go back to 2.6.7-gentoo-r14.
But now i have no virtual terminals. ctrl-alt-f1 to f6 just stares at me with no login prompt, and X is running on ctrl-alt-f2
Did i disable something in my kernel config? (i think not, but i dont know what else could be the problem) |

do you use the "vga=xxx" parameter, perhaps? if so, try disabling it for a test. maybe you have dis/enabled something with framebuffers, and so the terminals dont work. well, they are there, but you simply see nothing. i had this error once  |
