Yea, well, /proc/bus/usb is emtpy:
Code:
rob usb # ls /proc/bus/usb
rob usb #

here's some more info:
I have hotplug and libusb installed.
I have the USB kernel modules installed, but it doesn't seem to do anything with them, except load usbcore on boot.
All the kernel log says about USB is two lines, nothing about UHCI or OHCI:
Code:
usbcore: registered new driver usbfs
usbcore: registered new driver hub

After all, nothing happens when I plug in a USB device...
Any help would be appreciated :)

Do you modprobe the USB host drivers (UHCI, OHCI, EHCI) or load them using the /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-<VERSION>? You should. :)

Well, I try to load ohci-hcd but it hangs my system... the only way out is a hard shutdown.
The others, uhci-hcd and ehci-hcd load fine, but nothing happens.

Before I reinstalled gentoo, I had USB working, but hotplug used to load everything for me, even the HCDs...

Haha, while starting up, I get this error:
Code:
* Mounting local filesystems...
mount: mount point /proc/bus/usb does not exist

I've seen this in a post elsewhere...

[EDIT]
This is because there's a init script that tries to mount usbfs.
I also forgot to add that when I run 'mount', it tells me that usbfs is mounted... (although the directory is empty)
