It's been a while since i touched our samba server serving 30+ users, so upon reading your question
i headed to samba.org to check out whats new and look what i found,
there is a book on Samba available online from http://www.samba.org and
http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/samba2/
Could very well answer your questions

Probably more or as many as Windows can handle.

There are a lot of backup scripts available
that can help you do that. Among excellent examples are
http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/
and
http://bobs.sourceforge.net

just to add a bit to question 2
It depends on which password backend database you use. I think the basic databases support around 250 users, the ldap one can handle several thousand. |
