Using enlightenment, when ever I open up xterm, I get the basic bash ...$ prompt, where I would like the colored mike@.... I can get it by typing source /etc/profile , but I'd like it at startup _________________ If you get your problem solved put a [SOLVED] in the title!

I dont use Enlightenment but had a similar problem when I added xterm to my fluxbox menu. I added an entry for xterm on the menu which brought up the bash ...$ prompt when i started xterm.
The command for the menu entry was simply "xterm". To fix this I added the option;
Read the man page for more of an explantation, but basicly this launches a login shell and sources your profile and this fixed it for me in fluxbox.
I havent got a clue how your launching xterm, but if you can edit the menu or command your using to launch xterm, adding -ls should fix it.
Hope that helps,
