I am using stage-2 install of gentoo, and I want to install gnome 2.8. Now 2.8 has linux26-headers as a dependence. Is it safe to unemerge 2.4 headers and install 2.6 headers in a stage 2 setup. If it is safe, then is there anything else I have to re-emerge like glibc. _________________ Nothing more, For me to Say

I assume you have a 2.6 kernel?
In my case I did, and I unmerged 24 headers and installed 26 headers. For glibc to make use of the new functions you must remerge it (which I did), afterwards I did gnome 2.8 and here I am, all is well |
