i believe he said "macosx" which means that the ~ppc keyword would not be ideal, as the arch he is dealing with is "macosx"
my suggestion would be to emerge /path/to/ebuild.ebuild.
because then it will not check for the keywords.
this would be a problem, if the dependancies also were masked, so maybe you would want to allow heavy heavy masking, which is dangerous, and say ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="ppc".... since ppc is not the arch, but is close enough that you should be fine.
you could also edit the ebuilds, and add "macosx" to the list of archs. |

I've split the discussion about political avatars to this topic in Off The Wall. Please move that discussion there and leave this topic for macosx keywords related subjects. _________________ Search | Read | Answer | Report | Strip |

Code: | [12:18:55 bennyp~] % > emerge /usr/portage/media-sound/ardour/ardour-0.9_beta11-r1.ebuild
Calculating dependencies \rge /usr/portage/media-sound/ardour/ardour-0.9_beta11-r1.ebuil
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.98.1" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.98.1-r1 (masked by: missing keyword)
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.

Recursively do the emerge EBUILD thing for the dependencies first:
Ex:
emerge /usr/portage/media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.98.1.ebuild
When all deps will be merged, you will be able to merge your ebuild by specifiying the full ebuild path.
If everything works #1, then ask OS X team to keyword them as ~macos.

For anyone reading this these days, it seems the keyword is now ppc-macos. |
