Hi,
ich bin grad dabei, Gentoo auch auf meinem Laptop (ThinkPad R51) zu installieren, mit X hab ich aber so meine Probleme. Es startet zwar, aber ich hab unschöne Streifen auf dem Bildschirm und der Mauszeiger ist einfaches nur ein rechteckiges Farbmuster....
Hat einer ne Idee, wo das Problem liegen könnte?

Ich benutz den Generic Radeon-Treiber, der bei xorg-x11 6.8.0-r1 dabei ist. ati-drivers will nen älteren x11 6.7 emergen, also hab ich das erstmal gelassen.

Den WM, der standardmäßig mitinstalliert wird, ist glaub ich der TWM, oder? KDE emerge ich erst, wenn X soweit läuft...

Du hast da 2 x Section "Device" drin. Mit Identifier und Driver.
Nimm die mit vga mal raus.
Viellicht ist da 1 x zu viel? Ich hab es jedenfalls so nicht, auch wenn ich keine ATI Card habe. ... _________________ "Ich bin ich." |

Hmm, daran lags nicht, hat zumindest keinen Unterschied gemacht... Aus Frust hab ich einfach mal nen paar mal neu gestartet und plötzlich gings. Und ich dachte, sowas funzt nur bei Windows... |

das ist eigentlich normal. meine ati config hat auch beide treiber aktiv. |

hast du schon einen WM aufgesetzt? ich benutze xorg-6.7.0-r2 weil direct rendering mit ati unter xorg-6.8.0 nicht funzt! |
