when i use the liveCD every thing works when i boot using my NEW gentoo system, no touchpad (and who knows what else)
I ran lsmod under the liveCD and got:
st
serial
ds
i82365
pcmcia_core
sbp2
usb-storage
hid
usb-ohci
usbcore
but under gentoo proper nothing is listed so i figure it is just a matter of loasing the right module but how do i get them onto my laptop? modprobe returns with unknown module and emerge says no ebuild so is there a package or something? Please help. |

Did you comple the modules during the kernel config stage? Set it upo manually? or use genkernel?
What type of laptop is it?
We really need a bit more info to be able to help.
what does modprobe -l show?
try these
and post the output.
Sorry I cannot be of more assistance |

just to clarify, you are running X or something right? you don't get mouse at the normal console unless you use gpm or something like that. _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |
