Hallöchen ,
kann man auf neueren Rechnern Gentoo installieren??
Mit /sbin/ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.5 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255
Dann /sbin/route add -net default gw 192.168.0.1 netmask 0.0.0.0 metric 1
192.168.0.1 ist mein Netgear Switchrouter.

/sbin/ifconfig -a gibt das hier heraus

Interrupt 19 stört mich da !!!! Hat das was mit ACPI zu tun ?
Habe den Aldi Rechner Medion 8000 XL mit On Board Lan.
Beim Booten der Gentoo 1.4rc2 stage1 habe ich mal folgende Optionen probiert.
gentoo noapic acpi=no nonet
in verschiedenen Variationen.
Mit nonet Bootoption nehme ich als modprobe sis900 , das nimmt er auch an.
Nur ich kann halt keine Internetverbindung aufnehmen und kann weder andere Hosts anpingen ,noch kann ich selber angepingt werden.

Mach mal "/sbin/route add default gw 192.168.0.1"

Habe ich schon so probiert .
Bringt mir aber die selbe "Fehlermeldung".
Es muss wohl an meinem Board liegen ?!.
Auf einem Duron 1200 mit 3COM nic klappt es auf Anhieb , habe es testen können.

also heute habe ich mal auf einem PIII mit PCI-Netzwerkkarte gentoo installiert.da klappt es auf anhieb , muss halt nur modprobe 8130too machen dann geht es.
Ich habe mal verschiedene Bootparameter probiert

Mit F2 hat man da ja Optionen die erklärt werden.
Hat es schon mal einer geschafft auf so einem Rechner gentoo zu installieren ?
Habe das neuste gezogen >1.4rc2
Leider kann ich keine IRQ´s einstellen über das BIOS.
Liegt das am Kernel ? ,muss ich vielleicht noch warten auf einen neuen Kernel ?

so wie es aussieht ist die onboard-karte das problem. probier doch mal eine linux-konformere karte in dein board zu stecken (realtek, 3com), damit sollte es klappen _________________ Do you want your posessions identified? [ynq] (n) |

Meiner Erfahrung nach ist apic das Problem.
Und noapic als Parameter für die CD hat bei meiner nicht funktioniert.
Ich habe das System von Knoppix aus installiert.
Wenn Du dann, nach dem Kernel bauen, neu booten willst, einfach noapic in der grub.conf als Parameter angeben.
das geht dann
die sis900 bekommt dann den irq, den Du in der bios-ausgabe schon siehst. |

ich hatte das gleiche Problem:
PING localhost run
PING $MYIP run
PING $OTHERIP doesn't run
Lösung:
APIC im BIOS deaktiviert. Offenbar kommt das Modul sis900.o nicht damit zurecht.
Weiss nicht ob das nur dieses Modul betrifft oder allgemein Linux noch Probleme damit hat. |

hi
also mit ACPI gedöhns kenne ich mich net aus. aber es liegt definitiv daran, ca. 10000000 h gegoogelt.
ACPI ist definitiv noch ein Problem bei Linux.........
solange mein kleiner server läuft bin ich ja noch glücklich
wollte nur feedbacken ... war lang nimmer hier
