ok heres my problem i need the p4 package cd just for kde but the only bittorrent download i found will take 75hrs to download. could i download a x86 or i686 package cd just use it for that 1 filebecause i am useing the p4 stage. or could i even doenload kde and make a custom made package cd.

Is your question if you can mix precompiled packages for 686 (KDE) with your system which is otherwise compiled for P4 ?
I think you can...
(you might wait for the 2004.3 release of Gentoo - should be out the 15. )
