hey guys i need some help with this one. the last two times ive updated xorg to the newest release in portage my system has just decided to shut off during compilation. it only does it when compiling xorg. im running hte 2.6.9 kernel. anybody have any ideas what the problem is?? |

Sounds like a hardware problem to me.
Hardware problems seems to like heavy compiling. =D
try to recompile glibc and report if that works.
If it works I really have nooo idea whats wrong. |

its possible its a hardware problem, but if it is why does it only shutdown with xorg? ive compiled kde recently and thats very processor intenstive. no problems there.
im recompiling glibc right now like you suggested and we will see if that woks..... |

hey thanx for the suggestion but it turned out my processor was overheating. got a bigger case and a few more fans and voila! |
