Is the module loaded? Give us some details. _________________ http://dkap.info |

I am getting this exact same error actually:
Code: | (EE) Failed to load module "i810" (once-only module, -1073747640)
|
I am only able to use 640x480 resolution because of this |

use "lsmod" to determine which modules you have loaded. If there isn't one for the i810 loaded, then you can try modprobing it, but I get the feeling you're going to have to compile it into your kernel.
Post back if you need help. _________________ http://dkap.info |

lsmod lists nothing at all, i dont think i compiled everything right into the kernel instead. Should i use modules? |

Well, you don't _have_ to. I prefer modules over a monolithic kernel where I can avoid it. Anyway, see if there's a /usr/src/linux/.config file or a /usr/src/<kernel-version>/.config file. grep it for "i810" and see if there is a <y> by it. If not, or if the name of the graphics chipset isn't in there, you're going to have to configure your kernel. _________________ http://dkap.info |

"linux/.config" contains "CONFIG_FB_I810=y" and same with "linux-2.6.9-gentoo-r6/.config"
also i dont know if this is helpfull but there is this in both of those configs
"CONFIG_DRM=y" and "# CONFIG_DRM_I810 is not set" |
