Hello all ...

I've picked up a problem after doing an emerge update on one of my systems. All of my network interfaces give me an error when I do an /etc/init.d/net.XX start. This includes ...

net.lo
net.eth0 - wireless
net.eth1 - onboard ethernet

The error basically lists a bunch of wireless configuration options like wireless_associate, wireless_ESSID, etc. but does not start the interface.

Any advice would be a great help. Without a network interface up I'm not able to download any updates. Can I rollback the necessary package?

Thanks for reading ...

Create a wireless.eth0 file, following the example in /etc/conf.d/wireless.example.

I checked and I had a generic wireless config file in /etc/conf.d/ that I had setup and had working previously.

I copied it to wireless.eth0 but still no luck. The actual message I get when doing a start is ...

Code:
wireless modified functions: wireless_associate

After the wireless_associate several wireless_ commands are repeated.

If you used my old wireless-config at all, you need to remove all references to it from /etc/conf.d/net - including any preup/down functions you have.
