ciao a tutti ...
è da poco che ho installato gentoo e quando avvio il sistema durante il riconoscimento del masterizzatore il bootstrap del sistema mi si punta per circa qualche minuto...può dipendere dal fatto che carichi altri dispositivi?se si come faccio ad eliminarlo?
(non so se sono stato abbastanza chiaro... )

potresti postare la parte del dmesg in cui si pianta?

(nel bootstrap questo che viene dopo non si vede e si punti qualche minuto)

nel dmesg che ho postato c'è un errore...si punto dopo:
Probing IDE interface ide1...

Facendo una ricerca su google ho visto che si parla sempre di andare a modificare
il CONFIG_IDE_GENERIC....mi sapreste di che cosa si tratta e se può essere una giusta soluzione al mio problema?
(se vi sto stressando scusatemi...) |

potresti postare il link?
nel tuo kernel se non erro è abilitato (staticamente). Si parla di rimuoverlo? _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.

si è proprio il tuo caso, oserei dire:
ora basta che fai così:
Code: | # cd /usr/src/linux
# make menuconfig |
da lì vai in:
Code: | Device Drivers --->
ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL support ---> |
e disabilita
Code: | < > generic/default IDE chipset support |
da quello che mi pare di capire, questa opzione dovrebbe garantirti, e in generale sulle macchine più recenti, un boot più veloce...
quindi in realtà l'help che dice:
Help wrote: | If unsure, say Y. |
sarebbe da ridefinire
dopo che hai sistemato questo, esci, salvi la configurazione e lanci la compilazione:
Code: | # make && make modules_install |
poi monti boot e copi l'immagine lì dentro.
Code: | # mount boot
# cp /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/kernel-<versione> |
ti potrei consigliare di non sovrascrivere la vecchia versione e tenerla in caso di necessità nel caso si pianti tutto.. chiaramente devi aggiornare i link simbolici in modo da puntare alla versione corretta del kernel che andrai a lanciare! cmq in linea di max non dovrebbero esserci problemi. ok fatto ma non sono sicuro dei comandi per modificare i link simbolici al kernel...
sono questi vero?
# rm /usr/src/linux
# cd /usr/src
# ln -s kernel-<version> linux

i comandi sono giusti ma il link simbolico /usr/src/linux è riferito alla directory che contiene i sorgenti del kernel.
Quello che ti serve è cambiare il link simbolico all'immagine del kernel che si trova in /boot.
Quindi dopo aver copiato l'immagine in boot dai qualcosa tipo:
Code: | # cd /boot
# rm bzImage bzImage.old
# ln -s kernel-<versione-ultima> bzImage
# ln -s kernel-<versione-vecchia> bzImage.old |
per controllare le versioni dei kernel basta che dai un
come al solito, se hai dubbi e problemi, posta pure _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.
