Is there some thing similar to the Force Quit applet?
Edit: There is an applet I dont remember it's name... it was responsible for checking your mail,
is there some thing similar in Xfce?
Edit: And I could not really find where do I control the screen saver? |

You have read the manual, yes ?
It is on the XFCE website, among others. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

Aw, come on, no need to be that sorry.
It's just, you know - the reason that many people get told to RTFM is based in a very simple fact - there is actually a manual for most things.
Just not usually one a Windows-user would be comfortable with, i.e. you can't click on it anywhere _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

Here is the strangest thing...
when I did this "emerge xfce4" it still shoew that it's running xfce 3.8.4,
I had to edit manually the file /etc/X11/Sessions/xfce!!!!!!
Is that normal? is that suposted to be like that?
EDIT: And can I now safely do this "emerge unmerge xfce"? |

Im running xfce with gnome and this works great for me! If you still want the gnome stuff then why don't you try that?
It doesn't make sence to ditch gnome and then complain about it being gone. |

I was just asking if there is something similar. |

Here is something from the Xfce FAQ:
Code: | 15. How do I enable the shutdown/reboot action in the session-manager logout dialog?
You have to allow the user(s) to execute $installdir/libexec/xfsm-shutdown-helper with sudo. Please install sudo, and refer to xfce4-session and sudo documentation.
|
Where is this: "$installdir/libexec/xfsm-shutdown-helpe"? |

Seriously, you need to do a few simple searches first before asking these questions. I've been where you are, I know it's easier to just ask, but believe me it's worth it to seek out the answers yourself and read as much as possible.
When I first started I did a simple search for "xfce" in the online package database. Ditto with this forum. I read responses to questions, even if they didn't appear to be related to me, because by seeing the problems and solutions I got a better feel for how the whole system works.
The sticky note application is: xfce-extra/xfce4-notes
Browse that whole section and you'll find a bunch of other cool stuff. |

Right click on the applet -> Properties
EDIT: whoops, I see what you are asking - it only allows local mailboxes. Hmm, anyone else know? |

Yes you are absolutley right I should have searched!!!!
But I was a totatl n00b at the time of the original posting, and I did not understood why should I search first and only then ask if I dont find what I am looking for. But now I am not a n00b (or at least I hope so ) and I do understand the importance of searching and RTFM (reading the freindly manual).
