How about support for the BeBox in Gentoo PPC? For those of you who aren't familiar with the BeBox it was the original hardware platform for BeOS (before it was ported to the macintosh and later intel). They are great boxes, and many of us have them as collectors items - gentoo would be a great way to put them to work! Although other linux ports are available, we all know gentoo linux is the best...
The technical specs can be found here: http://www.bebox.nu/techspec.php |

I doubt the current PPC kernel will run as-is on a Be Box, not to mention we don't know much about how Be Boxes boot their OS.
In order to support them, one of the PPC developers would need physical access to one, which afaik we don't have. So unless someone out there wants to hack stuff for the Be Box in his spare time, it doesn't look bright for a Be Box enabled Gentoo Linux. _________________ ________________________________________

actually AFAIK the beBx was a supported machine at one point in time on 2.2.x kernels... you may want to do some reading as it may still work, hard to say.
