I have a gentoo system installed but now I need to add support for arabic. I've emerged the arabeyes fonts but I really need to make it like how windows is where i can switch between english and arabic typing is there a way that i can do this? Or is there just some way i can type in arabic without having to copy characters from the character map program? |

Hi.
I saw this pop up in portage a while ago so you might want to give it a shot, its called:
Katoob (you can emerge it)
if you check the homepage for it there are a few other programs and utils to write in arabic (this is the same site for the fonts that you installed).
let me know if this works for you. |

What desktop environment do you use?
In Gnome, right-click a panel, Add to panel > Utils > Keyboard Indicator, then open its properties and add Arabic.
In KDE, open Control Center, Regional and Accessibility (or something like that), and add Arabic to keyboard layouts. |
