i just installed gentoo after numours attempts finally got my nic to work running a shuttle x with nforce nvida3 chipset 150 when i log in the network appears to work i can ping out side of my network but after only a few secs it drops alltogehter i cant ping anything except for the ip that the card has its self i'm a bit lost here so any help would be awsome even just pointing to a forum link that allready has my answer would be awsome

| please anybody im going crazy here it works and then after a min or so it stops working its driving me crazy any ideas anybody? |

| Are you using nvnet or the reverse engineered kernel module? And which kernel version? |

| I've had this problem(or similar) before, my USB system was crashing and taking down all my networking with it, try unplugging all your USB devices and rebooting. Post dmesg if that doesn't work. |

| i have no usb devices installed.. as for dmesg i'll have to try to get taht to ya any other ideas anybody? |

| is it that nobody wants to say anything or is it that no body has a clue as to wahts going on with my machine either it would just be nice to knowthat either nobody knows what to do or nobody wants to say sorry if i sound pissed just a little frustrated at my computer i would really apprciate anything at all taht might help thanx everybody |
