Posted: Tue Dec 28, 2004 9:33 am Post subject: [SOLVED] No image on bootsplash - RAMDISK error |
|
|
I followed the guide under Documentation, tips and tricks and everything is just fine.
But I have no image on bootup.
Commands used:
copy image to initrd for lilo.conf
Code: |
/sbin/splash -s -f /etc/bootsplash/gentoo-highquality/config/bootsplash-1024x768.cfg >> /boot/initrd-1024x768
|
my lilo:
Code: |
boot=/dev/hda
image=/boot/kernel-2.6.9-r9
vga=0x317
root=/dev/hda3
label=gentoo
read-only
append="hdc=ide-scsi video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr"
initrd=/boot/initrd-1024x768
|
everything is ok but no image on my monitor
Is these lines the trouble makers?
How do I solve this??
snip from #dmesg
Code: |
checking if image is initramfs...it isn't (ungzip failed); looks like an initrd
Freeing initrd memory: 122k freed
. .
RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.
