kppp hangs up when receiving a phone call

Hi,
I use kppp to connect to the internet with my 56k modem.
Whenever someone internally or externally tries to make a phone call on the line, the pppd deamon dies with exit status 16.
Is there a way to ignore any external call whenever the modem is up and running?

this isn't related to the software, as i've never used it, but when i used to have dialup (thankfully YEARS ago :-P

), there was a prefix that i could tell the modem to dial to disable call-waiting (which is the problem). you should check with your phone company to see if such a thing exists for you
