|
|
Hi there,
Nforce 2 person here... don't ask any more. Burnt out and frazzled out of the amount of hw mixing problems, so time to buy a GOOD sound card with built in hardware mixing *hurrah*
First question: Is the Audigy 2 compatible with linux modules? I.e. is there a module that supports it like emu10k1 or something like that
Second: Is there SPDIF on the Audigy 2 and if so, does it work under Linux?
Third thing: any other experiences/information would be useful.
Thanks in advanced
Cheers

My Audigy2 ZS works just fine. It's supported by the emu10k1 module in ALSA.
As I diesn't use it, I can't say wether the Audigy's SPDIF works under Linux or not. But surround sound over the analog connectors works as well.
In fact the Audigy2 seems to be as easy to use under Linux as older Live! cards. |

It depends on what card you order; the "standart" Audigy2 ZS just has this pseudo digital out that also the Soundblaster Live! had (I guess it's analogue).
The Audigy2 ZS Platinum offers an optical output, too. |
