add my own apps to k panel

erm... i've got everything running nicely, and have just spent a day emerging, amongst other things, xmms and kemerge..

i've found the executables in /usr/bin , but how do i add them to k panel????

Fortunately this is very easy! Right click on the K symbol in your panel and open up the Menu Editor, there you can add new links to the menu. If you want a new button in your panel, this is even easier! Just drag and drop the executable there creating a link. Edit the link properties and select an icon which suits.

Unless I am very much mistaken, there is a tool to do this available in KDE - I think it is called AppFinder. It automatically searches for binaries on your disk and adds them to the menu, often with fancy icons and under the correct sub-menu ...

I think you can also right click on preexisting launcher buttons and change the preferences so it points to something else, kinda like adding a launcher in gnome. That's how I used to do it before I learned the right way (using the menueditor.)
