netstumbler like program for linux?

i'm looking for a program that will display signal strengths of peers on an ad-hoc 802.11 network. i know in infrastructure mode (acess point mode) you can look in /proc/net/wireless and see signal, noise and other numbers, but in ad-hoc mode those fields are blank

basically i need to evaluate the range characteristics of a few different antennas and i'd rather not switch the networks over to access point mode to do it. so i guess i need some good wireless tools recommendations.

cool, thanks! it looks pretty sweet. i think we're going to have to switch our testing methods to access point mode, because the more i read, the more it seems like you can't get statistics like signal and noise in ad-hoc mode, no matter what tool you use.
