|
|
Dear all,
Gentoo is amazing even from its startup and installation. I haven't seen one distro that can cover the kernel mesg and have a "wall paper" in the installation shell.
I want to know how it is done? (including the kernel startup status bar and the "wall paper" after entering the installation disc in the liveCD).
It is amazing, pls give me some hint abt this!
many thanks

There is also this post by pjp the admin in the FAQ section of the forums specifically about backgrounds, though it's 2 years old and still refers to the 2.4 kernel so I'm not sure how current or wokring it is.

If you try it let me know how it works, I'd like to do it sometime too . |

Just don't forget to read the warnings
Quote: | Warning : with the latest kernels (from gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.8-r1) bootsplash has been replaced by gensplash and this part of the howto doesn't apply anymore ! for further information, see |
But there is a link there for a the newer tutorial though |
