|
|
Hello,
The subject line isn't quite true, because if I go to the screensavers page of KControl, I can preview any screensaver, and view it fullscreen with the "Test" button. However, when the screensaver is actually supposed to start normally, I always just get a blank screen, no matter which screensaver is selected. Yes, my user is in the "video" group.
To test further, I tried running from the konsole:
Code: | kxsrun galaxy -- -window |
Which works fine, showing the screensaver in a window. I then try:
Code: | kxsrun galaxy -- -root |
Which does nothing, and does not return control until I Ctrl+C.
Incidentally, in both cases, I get the same output on console:
Code: |
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
QPixmap: Cannot create a QPixmap when no GUI is being used
kxsrun: saverdir is/usr/lib/xscreensaver/galaxy
|
I don't think this has anything to do with the problem, though.
Any ideas? _________________ LMCBoy |

Ah, interesting. I hadn't considered the possibility that this was a KDE issue, I thought I had just done something stupid . I found a KDE bug report and added a comment to it here:

Great! I'm going to update to beta2 myself this weekend, and then I'll suggest closing the bug if it works for me as well. _________________ LMCBoy |
