Hi,
1. How do I make my computer able to view Chinese characters?
2. How do I make my computer able to input Chinese characters?
I am a beginner; know very little Chinese characters. So the options or settings has to be in English. So I know what I am setting.
Thanks in advance.
By the way, Happy Chinese New Year! |

1. Using what apps?
2. You can use scim or fcitx. Their latest versions are fine under gentoo linux, both x86 and ppc versions. |

1. emerge arphicfonts
2. emerge scim, (skim if you prefer KDE) and then emerge a inputmethod you want to use (probably scim-pinyin/scim-chinese is what you want) |

Displaying/inputting Chinese are the most frequently asked questions, I'm going to write some small howto once I have time... _________________ - http://nkbit.com
